About

What got me started?  I first became inspired by wedding photography while looking through wedding magazine after wedding magazine.  I kept flagging the same types of photos, black and white, photojournalistic, emotions captured by the photographer without a posed photo in sight.  Many of my favorite images were from the same photographer, and after meeting with him, we booked with him on the spot.  I could imagine myself in those beautiful pictures, having my wedding documented like the ones I had seen in the magazines.  I was hooked.  I had my favorite pictures in a binder and showed the photographer when we met, so that he knew exactly the kind of look that I was going for.  We felt instantly comfortable with our decision, he was the one and only photographer we interviewed.  I was married in October of 2000, and the day was perfect.  It went by in the blink of an eye.  The photographer and assistant were so unobtrusive, they were hardly noticed by the guests.  They were there to document the day as it unfolded, not to force pictures or smiles.  The pictures we got back were amazing, so many things that I didn't even get to see until they were on film.  I am still grateful to have such beautiful photos of my family and of my husband and I having the time of our lives.

Where did I go from there?
